Lake Erie Crushers Game

Friday was a packed day.  At night we headed to the Lake Erie Crushers game to see fireworks and enjoy a night out at the baseball game.  Gina was given a foul ball and Anthony caught a t-shirt that was thrown out by the mascot, Stomper, in his jungle jeep.  The fireworks were amazing.

Kiddie Park with Anthony & Alyssa

We got moving earlier this morning as Joe needed to take the car to get the windshield replaced (a rock hit it on Wednesday on their drive in from Chicago...just another reason why Joe doesn't like Ohio.).  We headed off to Memphis Kiddie Park.  It was a VERY HOT day but the kids were all troopers.  They had to ride the rides and eat lunch until Joe got finished which was about 3 hours.

Joe arrived after getting the windshield fixed, so we had to snap a picture to say that he was at Kiddie Park.

Anthony & Alyssa's visit

My college friend, Jill, and her family came to visit and stay with us.  We had a wonderful time catching up and the kids, Anthony 4 and Alyssa, 2 1/2, had a great time playing with the girls.   We took the morning easy and the kids just played and watched Toy Story, eating popcorn.  Finally, in the afternoon, we headed to the Avon Lake pool and had a good time swimming. The kids even got popsicles.

The girls really like to hold hands with their friends.

And then a little play time on the swing set.

Campfire

The girls just love to have campfires in our fire pit.  They always want to have smores, however Gina eats her's without the chocolate and Natalie only eats the chocolate. Can we really call them smores?

Father's Day

As soon as Gina and Daddy arrived home from their Indian Princesses overnight in Buffalo, we were able to celebrate Father's Day with him.  While he was gone, Natalie was able to decorate some wrapping paper to wrap his gifts.  Then the girls got a little play time with daddy on the glidder swing before heading inside and everyone but Mom taking naps.  What a great day to spend with Daddy.  Happy Father's Day.

USS Little Rock

So this was a big weekend for Gina.  Early Saturday morning, she and her daddy, headed out for Buffalo, NY.  They were meeting up with their Indian Princess group to spend the night on the U.S.S. Little Rock, a decommission missile cruiser, that was named after Little Rock, Arkansas.   They slept in some tight bunks, ate in the mess hall on the ship, and got to tour this ship along with the USS Croaker and USS The Sullivans.  She and daddy both had a great time.

Safety Town for Gina

So, one of the first steps for Gina to complete before she starts Kindergarten in the fall, is to go to Safety Town. It was a great week for her seeing old friends, making new friends that will be going to school with her in the fall and learning how to be safe. She was taught about fire safety, bike safety, bus safety and water safety. They have a little town set up to teach them about crossing the street and traffic safety. She even got to go on her first real bus ride around town to all the different elementary schools in the Avon Lake School District. She had a great time this week.

Natalie enjoyed having a little Mommy time by herself while Gina was at Safety Town.

Here is Gina with her friend, Reese, from Little Learners.  Reese will be going to St. Raphel's in Bay Village next year.

The school that Safety Town was held at was Westview Elementary School.  They had an amazing playground that both the girls really enjoyed playing on after Gina finished up her morning time at Safety Town.

Visit with Cousins

Today, we had the pleasure of spending time with our cousins, Kyra and Lauren.  What could be better than popsicles on a hot day watching the little bobcat across the street move gravel.  All 4 of the girls loved watching the bobcat.  Also, they all loved swinging together on the tire swing.  What a great day with cousins.

Planting our herbs and veggies

For the 2nd year, the girls have helped Daddy plant the herbs and veggies that they love to water and watch grow. Last year, they put way too many carrot seeds in and we had to dig the carrots out with a shovel because there was soo many of the growing in such a small space. However the carrots were delicous when we did eat them. We can't wait until this year's herbs and veggies grow so we can eat them (however we are getting a much later start than we would have wanted but oh, well, better later than never). I guess this will be a tradition that Daddy can continue with the girls for years to come.

Mommy even helpd them plant more flowers in their new flower gardens.

And as you can see, they were sporting some new fashion sunglasses. There were both movie stars in our books.
